Firstly madhavs1989 said that he has hundred articles ready for his medical website. Madhavs1989 I just want you to make sure that these are all unique articles. If you primary traffic source will be google.com you need unique articles in order to get good rankings. Just make sure that your articles are not PLR stuff that everybody spams around.

Question#1: Should i upload all the 100 articles at the same time or do around 20 a week ?

No to both. Putting all your articles at the same time is definitely a no no. Even twenty a week is a lot. The best approach is to put one article each day. You can go up to two articles if you want to but not at the same time. Make sure you put a random timeframe between putting each article.

I don’t know what platform you use but if you have an option to schedule article publishing it would be great for you.

A good publishing plan would be:

First Month – One Article Each Day

Then every other day publish one article. That way you have content for about a year ahead!

Why Should You Publish An Article A Day?

Because you need to make sure search engines spider your website frequently. The more spiders you get, the higher rankings and PR you will have. If you follow my plan it is likely that your website will be seen as an authority in your field in a short period of time.

Why Not Publish All Articles At Once?

Because if you do that, even though you might have unique content google might perceive you as a spammer and sandbox your website. The first few days you will probably get spiders but after a while search bots will simply stop visiting your site because you don’t have unique content for them.

If you really want to go with the 20/week it is still possible and you won’t get penalty just make sure that you don’t publish all your articles in one day.

Question #2: My primary goal is to bring traffic to the website . Should i start working on the SEO as soon as i upload them or wait for the search engines to index all my pages and then go on about doing it ? How long should i wait?

From what I understand you probably have a basic HTML website. Now if that is the case make sure you have a sitemap. Check out this website on how to make one Google Sitemap. Sitemaps are a way to show Google your content location in an organized manner. A whole book can be written on this topic so if you need more info do a search. If you still have questions I’ll see if I can answer them - use the comments.

Back to your question. Many people wait a week before they start promoting their website. Personally I don’t and I haven’t seen any kind of penalty. Furthermore google will index your site faster. If you don’t do SEO ( We are talking about off page – e.g backlinks) the chances of google finding you are really low. So start building backlinks as soon as possible.

If you use tools as scrapebox and xrummer do no target your website directly. You will get sandboxed. If you are building backlinks manually don’t worry about this. If you want to know more about off page seo and get more backlinks I recently wrote a really in depth post on the topic – How To Build Links . I spent few hours writing this and many people would charge you money for this type of info so make sure you check it out.

So basically, start SEO as soon as your site is ready (sitemap,pages) and you publish your first post.

Question 3. Are there any ways to bring traffic to the website considering its new ?

You are doing SEO so you will have to wait a little bit to see the results. If you want instant traffic aside from search engines you can try:

• Forums
• Social Bookmarking
• Chat Rooms
• Yahoo Answers

Just try to think of places where people interested in your topic would hang out and search for info. In the next couple of weeks I will make a free video guide on how to establish an authority site without doing SEO - by relying only on content. Right now I am starting a self improvement blog and I will record step by step things I do to bring massive traffic from the first day. I will cover the above topics in depth and a few more. Question 4. Is it okay if i place ads initially ?Or how long should i wait ?

Well to be honest I am not really sure with this. Few things you need to consider:

What kind of ads are you putting?

Check your ad networks policies to make sure you don’t get in trouble.

Are you doing directory submission?

You might get rejected by most authority directories when they see that your site is filled with ads. So if you are submitting your site to DMOZ, Yahoo and other directories – don’t put the ads yet.

However, since most ads are JavaScript and google doesn’t fetch that data they won’t affect your search engine rankings.

And that’s where you and I are similar and I really respect the fact that you are not giving up and trying to find a magic solution. Because the magic solution is you, your ability to learn from others and then apply it.

In this article I will try to help you to the best of my knowledge and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Link Building is not the only thing you have to do in order to get good search engine rankings but it is one of the essentials. I will try to cover everything on how to do SEO in “How To SEO” series but this article is about building links.So lets get started.

Before beginning the tips though for the real newbies you have to know that in order for Google to count a link pointing to your site it has to be “do follow”. Search engines use spiders(the thing SE’s use to find your posts) to crawl your webpages, and there are special commands these spiders respond to. If a webmaster adds rel=’nofollow’ to his outbound links spiders won’t follow them and you won’t get link juice.

There are many ways to find if a site allows ‘do follow’ links I personally have a Firefox plugin that does it for me it’s called Swooty SEO. However, there are many other tools and you just have to search for them. I believe SEObook has a plugin that does this but I’m not sure.

9 Free Tips On How To Build Links:

Link Building Tip #1: Get Profile Backlinks:

What is Profile link building?

This is creating profiles on various websites (forums,social networks,web 2.0) which allow do follow links. Google has a little thing called Page Rank which they give to websites. The bigger the page rank the better quality the link is. When you create a profile in a high PR (4,5,6,7) website at first your page will have no PageRank. But because of the way link juice works profile backlinks are counted as high quality. I can’t explain everything in this article because if will became huge and no one will read it, so if I will probably write another post in this topic.

Where to find High PR Profile Backlinks?

YouTube.com – Create a profile in YouTube, and in your profile write your website url. I believe this is the only place where YouTube allows do follow backlinks to external sources.

Identi.ca – create a profile there and put your link. Join some related groups so you get some link juice.

Tattoo.com – create a profile and in the “about me” section you can put your link in HTML.

Colourlovers.com – create a profile and in the BIO section you can put your link.

The way you find such websites is through Google. You can use the search string “Powered by <something>“ and you will find websites running a specific platform (a forum for example – vBulletin). Make sure the site you are registering has at least PR3 and allows do follow links. The way I do it is through the Firefox plugin I mentioned earlier but you can find other alternatives.

I know that there are people selling backlink packages and many people have given good reviews for Paul’s and Angela’s backlink services. They are actually quite cheap so if you have the funds you can buy them if not you can always search yourself.

How To Index Profile Backlinks?

Profile backlinks are all good but in order for search engines to recognize your links they have to first find and possibly index them. I know that few people have even sold books on this subject but it’s so simple I think it’s pure robbery.

1. As you create your profiles, save their url’s into a text file.

2. Go to http://www.links2rss.com/ and paste the links there. Follow the instructions there and create your feed.

3.Upload it to your website.

4.Go to http://www.pingfarm.com/ and paste all the links from the text file and RSS url. Ping them all.

These are the basic steps, there are even more secure ways to make sure your articles will get indexed but I won’t go into much detail now. This way you are at least informing search engines for your profiles.

Link Building Tip #2: Software Websites

I am not really familiar with this method as I haven’t used it myself but I know that this is a really good link building strategy. Many people create toolbars, and simple softwares and then submit them to Software Download websites (such as downloads.com) and they get a high pr backlink.

How to do it?

There are softwares for distributing your program to large numbers of sites but as I haven’t used it myself I can’t really help you here. However, search around and I am sure you will find some information.

How To Create The Software?

Your software can be a really simple exe file you don’t have to be fancy programmer. Get to YouTube and watch some basic programming videos you will have a good exe file in and hour or two.

Link Building Tip #3: Statistics Websites

When this was discovered it was a big breakthrough. Basically the idea is that there are literally thousands of statistics websites (sites which give certain information about a website, like whois data) and you submit your site to them.

The downside is that you can only use it on full domain names. For example mydomainname.com . But you can’t use this on subdomains,pages or posts on your site.

This method is a great indexer if your website hasn’t been index yet. Apart from indexing it’s a quick way for getting your website noticed by search engine spiders or building some links.

I can guess what you are asking yourself, how to find these sites… Well don’t worry because since this method popped up many people made scripts and software’s to do it automatically.

The website http://www.indexkings.com/ is a sister site of pingfarm.com and pings your url to 60 websites. I also have a little software that I downloaded from a forum which pings a site to 3000 places but I’m not sure if I can share it. If anyone wants it contact me through skype and I will send it to you.

Link Building Tip #4: Article Directories

This is a very popular way of getting not only backlinks but visitors as well. Because of the fact that articles on aged high PR article directories rank extremely well on SERP’s many people build backlinks directly to their article in order to get high positions in Google. However, this has some bad side effects:

• You don’t have full control over the site.
• You don’t get much benefit in the long term.

Aside from this, a benefit of article directories is that when other webmasters publish your article you get extra backlinks.

There’s also a thing called Article Marketing where you use only articles directories to earn money online. In fact that’s the way I made my first money. I was a so called “Bum” marketer – I didn’t want to spend money for a website so I created a squidoo lens with a review of a product, published some articles on ezinearticles.com and after just a few days I made my sale.

What Article Directories Do You Recommend?

Personally I publish only in 3 place:

• ezinearticles.com
• goarticles.com
• articlebase.com

I don’t do it so much for link building but for more visitors.

There is a software called Article Marketing Robot which submits your article to around 5k article directories. I have only tried the trial few weeks ago and it was a pain in the neck (at least for me) so I let it go but I will surely buy the full version because I see some great reviews of this little software.

But hear me – I am not saying that I recommend it, I haven’t used the full version. Read some other reviews and try the trial and then decide if you’ll buy it or not.

Aside from that you can again use Google if you need a bigger list for manual submission.

This article covers some good information. Some of the websites there are really what we call web 2.0 but nevertheless good info.

Advice:

For more visitors, try to focus on quality not quantity. For more backlinks quantity is obviously more important.

Link Building Tip #5: Guest Blogging

Now this is just like article directories except that you will probably get a lot more visitors and exposure.

With this method you contact webmasters who have similar topic to yours and tell them you want to share content on their blog. If they accept your offer you are often allowed to put a link back to your site in your article. But how exactly do you do this?

5 Steps To Successful Guest Blogging

1. Write an article just like you would do for your site. Focus on quality!

2. Go to Google and find relevant blogs. Check their PageRank, subscribers and other additional information you are interested.

3. After you have chosen few contact their webmasters. Most sites have contact forms so you can use that. Alternatively use the comments section in one of the recent articles.

4.Your message should look something like this

“Hello <Name>, I am <Your Name> from <yourwebsite.com>.

I like your blog and I was wondering if there is any chance I could post guest blog posts here. I have few quality articles that will suit your content really well. In exchange I would like to include a little resource/bio box at the end of the article. If you want to see my writing style check my website.

I look forward to hear from you.

Regard, Your Name”

This is just a sample that I created in 30 seconds and I am pretty sure anyone can write a better e-mail. Just be nice and tell them what you want. As long as you have quality content most of them will agree. This is also a great way to build contacts.

5. Let them make you a contributor account (if they use wordress) and publish your content.

If you follow these steps you should be good to go. As a matter of fact if you would like to write on my blog (onlinemoneytutor.com) contact me. Right now I don’t have much traffic or PR but as I am getting more and more serious about this website they will all explode . So contact me after a month or two when you can have PR and visitor benefits from my blog and as long as you have good content I will be really happy to share it with my visitors.

Link Building Tip #6 Blog Networks

Blog networks are a little more advanced (or maybe degraded, depends on the point of view) version of Guest Blogging.

Basically you join a blog network and you submit articles. If your articles are approved by a webmaster they publish your article. There are a lot of blog networks, some paid, some not.

I will write a separate article on this subject reviewing different networks but right now I just don’t have enough data and experience to give a competent opinion.

I can tell you about two free networks that I know of.

1. Free Traffic System . com – This is a free alternative. From my own experience it’s not the best blog network but after all it’s free. Check out their website and you will get more info. Just don’t blindly believe those reviews because most of these people are given incentives to share their experience.

2.Authority Link Network . com – This one is better but you have to add at least one website with PR to use the network. I believe it was closed for a while and they didn’t accept new users but they are open now. They had a really quality network of sites with PR1-PR5 but after the recent PageRank update I more and more often see sites with PR0. ALN is much simpler and better than FTS.

If you don’t have a blog with PR don’t worry. You can always use FTS. Or even if you don’t use any of the blog networks as long as you are blogging I don’t believe it will effect you that much. Because blogging is about sharing content after all. I think that If you have great content visitors will come and people will certainly link to you.

It has always been like that on the internet and having a spammy website that just tries to sell you something on the first page of Google will only last for so long. Just look at the biggest blog networks and bloggers out there – they didn’t submit their articles to blog networks,they didn’t spam blog comments. They focused on content and contribution. You should too and then believe me how many backlinks you have won’t matter at all.

Back to the subject though. Most of these networks allow spun articles.

What Is Spinning?

Spinning an article is creating many different versions of it with a specific algorithm.

The algorithm for ALN is {word|word|word}.

The algorithm of FTS is [spin]word|word|word[/spin].

For those of you who haven’t used spinning before here is an example.

{I love dogs| I adore dogs| Dogs are really dear to me| I just have a thing for dogs}

With a spinning software this whole thing will produce only one random sentence out of these four.

So I will get:

I love dogs

I adore dogs

…etc

In a an article you create 4-5 versions of every sentence and you will get a 60-70 percent unique article.

Can I Use A Software?

I don’t use a software because the manually written article is much more readable and it only takes me 30-40 minutes to spin a 400-500 word article.

However if you insist to automate this you can use:

SpinnerChief – this is a free one and if you want more complex features you can upgrade to pro. It is much better deal than the best spinner money wise. Firstly for an average blogger the free version will do a great job. If you want to upgrade because you need the extra features you can do it but you will rarely need them.

The website is http://spinnerchief.com/ and if you don’t have the money for the best spinner it’s a great alternative.

Of course I suggest you to spin the articles yourself. It’s not that hard, it makes your brain work more and you will get better at English! People pay some good money to get these benefits you know .

Link Building Tip #7 Use Forum Signatures

This is a version of Profile Link Building. Basically you find a relevant (or maybe not) forum which allows ‘do follow’ signature links. The way to do it? GOOGLE!

Then you can start making posts. Try to help people. If you don’t have time you can always make few generic posts like “this happened to me too”, “I was going to ask the same question” etc. That way you can create a lot backlinks for a short period of time.

If you want to get visitor benefits as well try to find the three major forums on your topic and create accounts on each of them. Every day spend at least an hour answering questions.Maybe start some useful informational threads. In no time people will see you as a an authority there.

Link Building With Forum Signatures Rogue Technique:

This is something I though of and used way back when I was 16 years old and I even have an article about it on my blog! Works great if you are posting on an irrelevant forum.

1.Create a profile.

2.Don’t put your links yet. Comment 10-15(as much as you want) two or three year old threads with little or no answers.

3.Put their url’s on a notepad file.

4.Wait for a week.

5.Put your links on your signature.

6.Use the indexing method I shared with you (for Link Building With Profile Backlinks).

Link Building With Forum Signatures Controversial Threads

Another thing you could do is create a controversial thread on a forum. Use you imagination. Give a negative opinion about an author or someone they really respect in that forum. Justify your opinion.

You will get a lot flame and your post will get really popular. This will give you a lot of link juice. You should check the threads PageRank after the next Google update .

I have never used this method myself but I know there are people who are ‘blackhat’ so if you are one of them you can use it. Some people call this trolling.

Link Building Tip #8 Commenting On Blogs

This is something you should already be doing if you are a blogger. Having few blogs on your topic that you regularly read is crucial. Not only because of the backlink benefits (many of these blogs will be ‘no follow’ anyway) but if you show a competent opinion you will get some visitors and you can create some good relationships with other bloggers.

The way to find blogs to comment on is simple. Can you guess how? GOOGLE!

3 Steps To Finding Blogs To Comment On:

1. Google your subject and visit all the blogs you run into.

2. Check their PageRank and if they allow do follow comment links. Earlier in the article I shared which plugin I use for that purpose. Make a list.

3. Don’t Comment Yet.

Steps To Finding High PR Blog Posts To Comment On

1. Go go Google and write “site:theblogyoujustfound.com”

2. On the left corner click “Search Tools”

3. Click Custom Range

4. Then filter results from one or two (or more) years back. So if today is 7/12/2011, you would chose From: 7/12/2009 to 7/12/2010. You get the idea.

5. Find blog posts. Check their PR. You will see that most of them have high PR. Save their URLs.

6. Repeat for all the other blogs.

7. Be happy!

After doing this you will get a decent list of posts you can comment on. Make a genuine comment. After all you will reap the rewards.

Is There Any Good Blog Commenting Software?

I’ve heard of one called Scrapebox. Never used it. It’s more of a spamming tool as far as I know. But I don’t think you need it. You will have to work a little bit with my method but at least you know you won’t get sandboxed by Google.

Link Building Tip #9 – Use Social Bookmarking

So this is a very popular method. I will quickly give you some resources to use:

4 Websites Where You Can Get Free Social Bookmarking

OnlyWire.com – Since I used them they have changed the way they operate but they were decent for mass bookmarking back then. Haven’t used them in a while so I’m not sure how things are now. They also have a paid program. You have to create your accounts manually.

SocialMonkee.com– Free or Paid. With the free option you can submit 1 url each day to 25 bookmarking sites. Paid version submits up to 3 urls to 100 sites. They support spintax. You can sign up through my affiliate link if you want to – Click Here.

Ping.Fm – You have to create your accounts manually. Spend some time and learn it – this website has some great features.

ImAutomator.com – Free version and Paid version. Free version allows up to 10 Link submits every day to 15 Social Bookmarking sites.

If you combine all of these you will get a good number of bookmarks every day.

Here are the steps:

1. Go to blogger.com create one or two blogs, write short article or part of an article and leave a link back to your website ( put your url in the end of the text preferably with anchor text)

2.Go to wordpress.com and make 2 blogs, the same process as blogger.com

2. Go to some forums that allow do follow ( i don’t have much time right now but I will explain what that is later) signature and make few posts.

3. Go to Digital Point Forums ( just google it). Make 10 posts, then put your url in your signature preferably in anchor text. After you have 15 posts ask(though I am not sure if you had right for that before being a member for 7 days) for a review of your website in the reviews section.This is also a good place of learning Internet marketing/ seo and a lot of other useful stuff so if you are new you should use it wisely.

4.You can make s0me squidoo/hub pages to increase the speed of the process even more.

Thats how i got indexed in less that one week . Somewhere I read that you can get indexed by google if you purchase a link from a PR6 domain though  I don’t think its a good idea, cus the big G is against link exchange/ and buying/selling links.

When you need keyword research?

Doing keyword research can be worth or not depending on your way of marketing. If you want to build a long-term business it is a MUST. If you want to use PPC to sell product – it is a MUST. If you are going to use article marketing, you can go without it (sometime I don’t bother doing it though it can help me make more sales).

What are the benefits of keyword research?

Well basically you do it so you can get targeted traffic from search engines. If you want to get automated money from your websites (means after a while you stop promoting it, but you get highly targeted traffic from search engines) it is a must…Who doesn’t want automated money? I can’t think of anyone, lol.

How can I do keyword research?

First of all you need to know which are the main/best keyword research tools (that most of the Internet marketers use):

Google Adwords:Keyword Tool
WordTracker Keyword Suggestion Tool
SEO E-book Keyword Suggestion Tool

now I sometimes use all three of them (lol) sometimes just one, depending on how many keywords I want. Usually 4-5 are a enough. For this example I will use SEO E-book Keyword Suggestion Tool but the process with each should be the same. Here is exactly what I do:

1. Say that I want to promote an e-book about getting rid of acne. I will go to the keyword tool and type “acne”.
2. Some of them got my attention like “adult acne”,”acne home remedies”,”how to get rid of old acne scars” and some more, the main thing that you looking for is more than 50 searches.Some people say that you need at least 200 searches however since you are going to have 4-5 keywords it doesn’t really matter.
3. Now I go to google, and type my each keyword looking how many results I will get. For  “acne home remedies” there are 449,000 results for “adult acne” there are 1,570,000 results and for “how to get rid of old acne scars” there are 761,000 results. Now I have to choose my main keyword.
4. My situation is a little bit complicated.  As you see “acne home remedies” and “how to get rid of old acne scars” have similar results . At my keyword suggestion tool the first one has 114 searches and the second one 95. In a normal situation I would pick “acne home remedies” without a doubt,however, if you look at the keywords which ones audience  do you think will more likely buy the product you promote?
5. People searching “Acne Home Remedies” will most are looking for a free way to get rid of their problem, but these looking for “how to get rid of old acne scars” people searching are probably desperate because they have their scars  from long time ago, and they are more likely to pay for a product.
6. So I would choose “how to get rid of old acne scars” for my main keyword, and find the best secondary ones in the same principle.

Did you ever tried to make your space  SE friendly? Even if you did, did you know how to do it? 10 On-Page SEO Factors That You Should Keep In Mind.

1. Sitemaps -  They are very important to make sure that Google and the others Search Engines can easily find all of the pages on the website. If you are like me and you use WordPress you can go and download the Google Sitemap Generator plugin.
2. Using keywords in your URL – this can help you rank better. In my opinion its not so important for Google but I know for sure that MSN will rank you higher if you have your keyword in your URL.
3. Keyword In Title Tag
4. Using your keywords in bold and italic inside posts – this can really help you rank higher but don’t overdo it – then it will look like spam and it will f*** up your rankings.
5. Using your keyword often in body text – important overdoing it can get you penalty usually 6-7% of the whole text is a good option.
6. Naming Images With Your Keyword – Do you use images? Do you know that when you use the “alt” tag on them with your keyword they can help you rank higher? But again don’t overdo it. 1-2 images with keyword in alt tag are more than enough(for a page).
7. Internal links should contain descriptive keywords – use anchor text.
8. External Links – Don’t link to bad links (these are websites that google has banned – link farms, spam sites etc),your Page Rank can fall significantly.
9. Top Level TLD domains – .org , .net , .com seem to rank higher. .Info’s rank lower – that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t make .info sites of course if you have good content and good SEO you can get good results.It’s just that I am not seeing so many .info’s in top 10 results anymore.
10. Editing Pages – can reduce your rankings. Changing keywords and meta descriptions is bad as well.

These are very important on-page SEO factors when building a web page. Of course there are a lot of other things but I will be talking about them in my next on-page seo articles.

If you want to promote a product on/website on a forum you have to make sure that they allow links in signature and they are dofollow (if you want backlinks for your website).

Promoting an  affiliate product:

1. Make sure that they allow links in signature.
2. Make sure that they allow affiliate links in signature. (just read the Terms&Conditions)
3. Put your link in anchor text. <a href=”www.youraffiliatelink”>get your copy<a> etc (using url forwarding is better)
4. Make some helpful posts.

Promoting your website for backlinks:

1. Make sure that they allow links in signature and they are DoFollow (A good method for that is downloading the Firefox nodofollow addon, and checking out some existing members signatures with it – if they are dofollow then you are ready to go)
2. Make some replies (don’t put your website url still!!!)
3. After that wait 6-7 days or until the treads you posted die.
4. Put your url in your signature.
5. Congrats, you have just made few backlinks to your site.

(explanation)When the posts die, probably no one will be checking them anymore and that way no one can report you or a admin can see it.

How does SEO work?

Well you basically optimize your website so you can rank higher in search engines -Google, Yahoo and  MSN .  Your main goal should be to rank at least in the top 10 of one of these SEs.

How can I rank in the top ten?

It depends on a lot of factors and some of them are :

• How competitive is your niche? For example when I search money on google i get 979 000 000 results. This is tooooo competitive. You should try to rank for that kind of words. Try focusing on long-tail keywords. For example instead of optimizing for “money” try optimizing for “make money online” but again it’s really a lot of competition out there 40 800 000 results…but it’s better than “money”.  But if we look at “make money online staying at home” – we get 6 020 000 so that’s a good keyword. ( I will be explaining in latter articles how to find the best keyword for you and stuff like that)

• On page SEO - This is really important factor. That is basically how the search engines see your site.

• Of page SEO – Now this is the most important. It depends on really a lot of stuff like: how many other sites are linking to you, their page rank, the anchor text they are using to link to you.

In latter articles I will be explaining how to do all that stuff, but these first articles are just informative so you know the basics.

Which search engine to focus on?

When I read some articles from the past (before 2 years or something) I understand how easy it was back then to rank in the SE. But now things have changed, and Google, Yahoo and even MSN got smarter.

In my opinion the easiest to rank in is MSN.Then comes Yahoo. And lastly Google. Its really hard to exploit the big G.

It’s really complicated because all of them have different algorithms for ranking so if you are at first place at MSN you probably won’t be anywhere in Google and Yahoo.  If you are trying to make a long-term site the best option is to go for Google. If not better focus on MSN because it’s updating more constantly.

Conclusion:

Ranking in Search Engines is really hard and in most cases there are people who will do the hard job for you (SEO) but you need to find the right people because there are a lot of scammers out there. Good place for finding guys to hire freelancers iselance
